Oral
Interpreting Techniques for
the Sign Language Interpreter
was presented by Tammy S. Cantrell
(CSC,OIC:C, Kentucky)
at the NTRID Spring Workshop March 23 and 24, 2001.

|
If you've never been to
one of Tammy's workshops, you have no idea how much fun it can be to learn
about a type of interpreting many of us have little or no experience
doing.
Tammy's part of an elite group of
interpreters with long-standing
certification as an oral interpreter, and she's also a wonderful teacher
with a relaxed and animated style that engaged the class right away.
Here are a few snapshots from our workshop -- hold your cursor over each

|
There were 29
interpreters in attendance from across Tennessee, as well as from Florida,
North Carolina, Virginia, Alabama, and Georgia!
 |
|
Tammy used a combination of tapes and
group exercises to keep the class active and involved. |
