IN JUNE OF THIS YEAR YVONNE RESIGNED AS PRESIDENT OF NTRID. THE BOARD AND MEMBERS WISH HER WELL IN HER FUTURE ENDEVORS.
ACTING PRESIDENT: Cheryl Bauer CSC
Cheryl learned sign language at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf in Rochester, NY. She has been Nationally Certified for 30 years with a Comprehensive Skills Certificate. Cheryl lives in Mount Juliet, TN. Cheryl has experience working in a wide variety of settings but her passion is Natural Resources and the outdoors. In her spare time you can find her outdoors or at the fishing hole.
SECRETARY: Sharon Wilson B.S., CT, NAD III
Sharon attended Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL and majored in Special Education for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired. She attended JSU for 4 years and then the University closed the Deaf education program so she returned home to TN to finish her Degree in Special Education at Austin Peay State University. Sharon has been interpreting for 14 years. She currently works full time with Clarksville Montgomery County School System in the Special Education Department and works part time in video relay. She has been a member of NTRID since 1998, served as the member at large for NTRID 2007-08, & served on the board of TODB for 3 years.
TREASURER: Debbie Nicholas NAD4, EIPA4.9
Debbie has been interpreting since 1981, primarily in the field of educational interpreting, which includes the university setting, k-12, residential school, and tech school. Debbie also has community, theatrical, and video relay interpreting experience. Currently she works full time as a Video Relay Interpreter. Debbie holds 2 certifications, NAD 4 and EIPA 4.9. Deb has been married to her husband, Paul, for 21 years and has one son, Thomas, who is 19 years old. They moved to TN from Southern California 6 years ago and currently reside in Murfreesboro.
MEMBER AT LARGE: Heather Richardson NIC
Heather Richardson has an Associates degree in Sign Language Interpreting from Cincinnati State Technical & Community College in Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated in June of 2007 and moved to Nashville in August of 2007. She became RID certified in November of 2008. She currently is an educational interpreter at a local middle school, freelance interpreter, and a video relay interpreter.
